Gingerbread Fun

Gingerbread Fun

We printed out the book below. I laminated the book and used sticky tack to stick the gingerbread man to each page in the correct place so that we can reuse. You could also print the booklet and allow your child to glue the gingerbread man into the book.

Christmas Time Fun. Happy Birthday Jesus!

We started off December with a countdown calendar to help us wait for the big day!

Get yours here:

After reading a few books about the nativity we did a cool sequencing game. (I laminated it so we could do it over and over...and use it again next year.)

Candy Cane Rhyme:
Look at a candy cane.
What do you see?
Stripes that are red
Like blood shed for me.
White for my Savior
Who’s sinless and pure.
J is for Jesus,
My Lord, that’s for sure.
Turn it around

And a staff you will see.
Jesus, my shepherd
Is coming for me!

One of the cheapest, easiest, and most fun crafts is a Christmas wreath! I cut out the middle of a plain paper plate and let my little one paint it green. When it dried, she added some stickers we had leftover from some crafts we did last year.

Learning to Spell Name

This is one of the easiest and cheapest activities ever! I wrote my daughter's name on two sentence strips (you could just use regular paper) and cut one of them apart.

My daughter was able to practice putting the letters of her name in order by matching them to the example. Once she mastered this, I took away the top sentence strip and she practiced putting the letters in the right order without a pattern to follow.

I added magnetic squares on the back of the individual letters so that they would stick onto a cheap baking pan, but this is not necessary.
(The sentence strips and the baking pan came from the Dollar Tree. The magnetic strip came from Walmart.)

We used Q-tips to paint with.
(Construction paper, q-tips, and paint tray are from Dollar Tree.)

We used random pieces of paper and random letter stickers to spell out Presley's name.

ABCs

This alphabet game can be played a few different ways. I put magnets on the back of the ABC sheet and on the back of each letter.  Preschoolers can match capital letters to capital letters, lowercase letters to lowercase letters, and/or capital letters to lowercase letters.

Homeschooling CHEAP - Introduction and Organization

The first thing I did this year before school started was to organize my supplies. I bought some notebooks, card stock, labels and I printed up several games I found on various websites.

You can purchase your notebooks and other supplies here:
