This is one of the easiest and cheapest activities ever! I wrote my daughter's name on two sentence strips (you could just use regular paper) and cut one of them apart.
My daughter was able to practice putting the letters of her name in order by matching them to the example. Once she mastered this, I took away the top sentence strip and she practiced putting the letters in the right order without a pattern to follow.
I added magnetic squares on the back of the individual letters so that they would stick onto a cheap baking pan, but this is not necessary.
(The sentence strips and the baking pan came from the Dollar Tree. The magnetic strip came from Walmart.)
